This design developed from the client’s concerns about limiting heat from sunlight at the front of the house, having a Mediterranean look for the house in general, and about how to optimize the flow of air.
Wide extended roofs and screen floated wall at the front designed to limiting heat from sunlight and control the breeze. A wide staircase has been built at the center of the house, thus allowing a gentle breeze to flow downwards. The architect restricted the size of the windows in order to provide some respite from the sun, opening these windows allows sunlight to reflect off the lower portion of the staircase, providing illumination from the bottom up.
